I journeyed from my hometown of Waco, Texas to attend Rhode Island School of Design. I graduated with two degrees, Interior Architecture and Architecture, and a passion for creating spaces.
After buying a house, setting up a practice in 1989 and experiencing the Northeast for 17 years, my husband Scott and I moved to New Mexico in 2000. Scott specializes as a consultant in alternative wastewater design and implementation.
In 2000, I re-established my Interior Design practice in Taos, creating both residential and commercial spaces. I am licensed with the National Council of Interior Design Qualification and a Professional member of American Society of Interior Design (ASID). Two of my better-known projects in Taos are the 18 Native American Suites at El Monte Sagrado Resort and Shadows Lounge & Grill.
philosophy
Listening . . . that is my secret for finding your personal design style. I listen for what brings you joy. I focus on finding your “wow.” I tune in to what makes you, you.
For me, life is an opportunity to listen. Attuned to what’s being said and what’s is not being said, I’ve attained the tools and wisdom to navigate the often overwhelming process of design and implementation. Through our mutual communication, you reveal valuable information, which, together, we craft into remarkable spaces that fulfill your dreams. From aesthetics, to function to process, I tend to your needs on this journey of co-creation.
I know that good communication is the key to a successful outcome of our collaboration. Acting as your advocate, I orchestrate the team interaction, between client, architect (optional) contractor(s) and/or vendors/craftspeople. I particularly enjoy facilitating the balance between all parties while prioritizing your needs and desires.
